Day 7 - Oh what a night....
...Late December back in 2005....
Between this and my last time in PE I found out that I can get to a new continent.... Amethera!! oooooo the excitement.... I could hardly wait.
So job 1, get there.... no problem here, got to a TP, changed continent, selected Treasure Island (a ha me hearties!!!) and kazam!! I was there.
Now from my browsings on the web I remember there being a TP to the North East and a TP to the South west. So being a southener by birth I set off in a south westerly direction all the time admiring the scenery that lay before me and occasionally spouting some pirate speak at passers by!!! Oh how beautiful.... look at the pretty trees.... oooo a red blob!!
I couldn't resit..... Axe in hand a gave a final shout of "Shiver me timbers" and I headed towards what looked from a distance like a skinny mammoth. Yep, you know one of those extinct elephant things!!
I swung my axe like I had never done before, slicing and dicing the elephant as he zapped me with some sort of electrical tenticals. If I'd have had my hair any longer it would be looking like that professor bloke out of Back to the future!
Eventually with about 5% health left the bugger was dead. "hurrah!!!" I crowed in a pirate kind of accent... "...that'll be teachin' the scurvy dog...ha ha ha ha!!!" What no loot.... "darn the land lubber... I'll be dancin' the hempen jig before I show another powder monkey to davy jones' locker!"
At this point I was far enough away from my original TP to be closer to the one I was headed for.... I hit the T key and waited (A nice little trick even if I do say so myself!!)
"Ta da" I was at the new TP. (Works like a charm that one!!!) I had a wander, looked at a few residences and then decided to head for the other TP. I beamed back to my orignal one and then set off in a "Nor' Easterly!" direction... "We'll be drinkin' grog from an hogs 'ead before nightfall"
About 2 minutes into the trip, 2... I say again 2 little T rex's appeared. I had no chance... I almost got 50% health from one but as the pair of them showed me the door to Davey Jones locker.. I decided it might be better to try this again with some reinforcements!!
I beamed back to Twin Peaks... My old faithful stomping grounds and said "I'll be drivel swiggin' the poop deck of amathera another day".
Once there, I decided to reserect "Speedy's Sausage Skins!!" I got 3 recruits... one of whom I booted fairly quickly as he didn't follow 'me orders.... (Damn it I love pirates!!!) we had a good session of hunting till my axe decided to give up the ghost at which time the team dispanded as they didn't want to wait for my return.... (I heard EPIC's voice in my head saying I needed two axes!!!)
As I pottered around from TP to TP, just causing the odd bit of mischief I came across a fella by the handle "007" offering an axe for sale.... I couldn't resist!! I haggled and haggled... and finally got one ( a very broken one I must say) for 4.5 PED. I get the feeling I may have been ripped off a bit, but I needed an axe.
Back to Twin Peaks for me!!!... Now with one good axe and one bad axe!! I sat around for a few minutes trying to recruit some members to "The SKINS" as I was now affectionatley calling my team. I got one guy who promptly called me a "cheater"... me... a cheater... I don't know how. As you guys are aware I've only played this for a week, I didn't even know you could cheat... (can you?) anyway at this point a fella by the name DaleWJ (*respect*) pipped up that he had read my blog. I was pleasently suprised.... word is spreading!!! It turned out his kid was playing at the same time (KYLE I think... please correct me if I am wrong!) after a few pleasentries, and DaleWJ giving his kid 500PED to go spend on a new weapon (very long... very pointy...don't want to get on the wrong side of that testosterone!!!) he agreed to go hunting with me!
He showed me some prime hunting ground.(ssshhhh its a secret!!!) and also mentioned that it was good for mining (mental note: bear this in mind for later episodes!!) We slashed and cut our way through several fair sized beasties... not much loot coming, but it was good experiance... all of a sudden things got better... I was getting loads of PED's (well loads for me... nothing like 500 but enough to keep me quiet!!), I even died once and DaleWJ carried on hunting while I repaired my axe and caught up with him.... and then it happened.....
I GOT A GUN!!!!
Yep, a real virtual full bodied imaginary firearm!!! ****Halleluiah **** <--- think Handel's messiah!!
Ooo baby... a nice little pistol it was too, all pretty and everything!
Just as all good things must come to an end... DaleWJ had to go (thanks to his: I'm sure beautiful wife who slaves all day over a hot stove, requesting his presence at the dining table!!)
So at this point I had to get ammo.... I cashed in all my not really useful things... basically anything that wasn't armour or a weapon and repaired the pistol and bought some ammo!!!
Now being the sensible, non excitable person that I am... I decided to take it easy.. Back to PA and kill a few small beasties!!!
And kill I did, with my 2 axes and new found friend "The pacifier!" <-- yes I named my first gun!! oooo shes a beaut!!!
As midnight approached, and the eyelids were closing I shut down old betsy (<-- yes my laptop has a name too!!! ) and headed for Lala <---- thats what I sometimes call my wife when shes not in range or hasn't got a solid object in hand!!!
Ta ra for now!

This is just great. I'm sure every seasoned player in PE recognice this tory. Whatever you do, don't stop!
Another nice addition...great to hear people are helping you based on your writing and blogging.
And you weren't ripped off on the axe..they go for a bit above tt+1 nowadays....And glad you have 2 axes now. ;)
