Day 9 - The fruit of my labour.
Now, before we begin..... I'm feeling ill..... not just a little ill.... very ill.... as ill as and ill thing on national ill day.... my stomach feels like someone has put one of those walrus things in it and stuck an oil barrel up its ass!
Anyway, enough of the complaining, last night I set out with a spring in my step, well actually I set out at a walking pace. I had read a tutorial about finding fruit and dung and it said you have to walk slow. I decided that I couldn't be bothered to systematically search one area so I just set off from Twin Peaks and headed towards a TP I hadn't got yet... kinda northerly in derection. I walked.... and walked.... and walked. Yep all the bloody way (* and yes it took ages and yes my finger hurt and yes I managed to watch Eastenders at the same time!*)
As I approached the new TP with nothing in hand and not really knowing what I was looking for (has anyone seen an image of fruit or dung on the web???) it happened....
This big white looking thing, well about the size of bunny rabbit (in relation to my avatar!) appeared on screen. I almost walked straight passed it!!! talk about not giving you much notice!!!
I click on it and up popped the loot box saying I had got 14 caroot (must be a play on words!!) I was so excited I almost went for a run in my exercise wheel!
As always, the first thing I did was check out the value.... and...... nothing.... what the... all that for a worthless piece of (I was going to put dung here but that might confuse!!) vegetable!
I was disheartened once again! oh well... at least I know what it looks like!
So off I went to the new TP, wandered around a bit, annoyed a few people, and then had a sneaky idea!!!!
[The plan]: Recruit a hunting team. Go hunting. Get them to kill the beasties. Claim the rewards (or part of them.... I'm not that mean!!)
So back to twin peaks I went rubbing my hands together in a "Mr Burns" esque kind of way! I managed to get one team member for Speedy's Sausage Skins! Disappointing, but still... worth trying out the plan!! I may then be able to repair my Axe!!!
Off we went.... found a beasty.... He killed the beasty (*cackle cackle*)... I get 90 pec!!! hurrah!!
Off we went again.... found a beasty.... he hung back..... I got killed!!! DAMN!!!
He must have sussed me.... he left the team and I was only 90 PEC richer. Not bad for a sneaky idea though!!!
I repaired my axe as much as poss and went to one of my secret hunting grounds!!!! I found a beasty.... killed the beasty(all by my self *big grin*)... got 2 PED loot...oooooooo
Repaired the axe a bit more.... found another beasty... killed the other beasty.... got 5.5PED loot..... damn that must be the best loot I ever got!!!!
I was on a roll!!!
Found another beasty.... started killing the beasty.... 2 other beasties joined.... I got killed!!! DAMN.
But.... the lesson for today is that things do get better! I now have a fully repaired axe, a fully broken one, a pistol (yep still got "the Pacifier") thats almost busted and no ammo (so yes the pistol is useless!)
At this point I was feeling more ill than a goldfish in an ice box so I turned in for the night, but had a sneaky suspicion that I would return to triumphant glory tomorrow.
Only time will see!
